ICB is

…a fraternal organization that seeks to train men in Christ-likeness as the standard for manhood. In other words "we train men." This is our purpose.

…a vision to strengthen, partner and establish men’s ministries around the world.

…a mission to establish chapters around the world serving as a model vehicle for training men in Christ-likeness.

Founded by A.R. Bernard, ICB is a fraternal organization that seeks to train men in Christ-likeness as the standard for manhood. ICB’s philosophy is that training is the key. What men need most is training; training that will empower them to be the godly men, husbands, fathers, sons, and ambassadors for Christ Jesus that God has called them to become.

And so, ICB’s motto is that "We Train Men."

Training as defined and taught by A.R. Bernard is to direct the growth of something by three important and inseparable mechanisms:

  1. Instruction: The dissemination of knowledge and information followed by its appropriation and acceptance. This is the beginning of all training.
  2. Discipline: Establishing patterns of behavior that cultivate and establish a godly lifestyle reflective of God’s values.
  3. Practice: The application of the instruction received is the evidence of learning. To be placed purposefully into a situation that demands the use of what one has been taught.

Romans 12:1-2

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."
